Google Play Services can be a web of confusion, and this app for Android helps you to keep track and make sense of it all

An Overview of Play Services Info

Formerly known as the Android Marketplace, Google Play is the official app store for the Android mobile OS, and where most people are going to go to get at least a few of their mobile apps. The thing about Google Play, however, is that there's an endless stream of data to sift through, and it can get so confusing. Play Services Info is a free app that helps you keep track of everything going on.

This isn't an official Google release. Google would likely never be this convenient! Instead, it's an app by Weberdo, and it's available only for the Android OS and is only applicable to the Google Play service. So there aren't a lot of features or functions here.

The Features of Play Services Info

The main feature of Play Services Info is quite literally just to provide you a streamlined version of Google's goings-on. Think about it like a sports show broadcasting a highlight reel of the game, so you get the gist in 3 minutes, rather than watching for 3 hours. What you'll be doing is monitoring the status of Google Apps.

Though it does allow you to fix problems you're having with Google Play services, while also allowing you to update to a newer version if you need it. Overall, however, it doesn't really do much beyond attempting to streamline the mess of data that is Google Play. For many users, that's a great thing though.

Pros and Cons of Play Services Info

  • Monitors the status of apps
  • Can get a new version
  • Streamlined compared to Google Play
  • Fairly intuitive
  • Doesn't really do much
  • Is not affiliated with Google
